Day 2: Tour of Amsterdam

July 21, 2014 After breakfast, we all caught a train to Amsterdam and then boarded a tram to the Anne Frank House. We climbed very steep stairs to get to the Frank family's hiding quarters. It was sobering to learn about the German occupation of Holland during WWII and how it affected the people living there during that dark time. Upon leaving the museum, Reid took us on a walking tour of Amsterdam after which we went to the Rijksmuseum and saw work by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Franz Hals and others. We then took a canal cruise which was a great rest for our tired feet!
