Day 6: Bavaria and travel to Austria

 

July 25, 2014 Today we were on the road for most of the day. Since we would be visiting Dachau, a concentration camp, Reid gave us an overview of Germany's WWII history. The concentration camp was very grim. Our Irish tour guide told us it was the first major camp to be opened and was in operation throughout the entire war.

 

We got back on the bus and drove further into Bavaria. In the middle of nowhere, surrounded by beautiful meadows and majestic mountains, there stood a white church, Wieskirche. The church is a baroque masterpiece inside. To our amazement there was an orchestra performance going on. The accoustics were unbelievable.
