Day 11: A free day in Florence

July 30, 2014 We had a free morning and spent it walking through the city. The Ponte Vecchio bridge was not crowded at that time of day. We then went to the Fra Angelico museum. The museum is actually an old monastery filled with frescos painted by Fra Angelico. The museum was very quiet and had beautiful gardens. After a spaghetti lunch, we met up with the rest of the tour group for a guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery. This world renowned museum contains famous artworks such as Boticelli's Birth of Venus, paintings by Raphael, and work by Michelangelo. Although we were tired after the gallery walk, we decided to climb the tower in the main square which gives a sky high view of Florence.

Tips!

# Don't miss the Fra Angelico museum
