Day 8: Travel to Venice

July 27, 2014 The next morning we traveled to Venice and stopped at an outdoor cafe for some panini and gelato. The bus took us to the vaporetto, which we rode to the island of Venice. Venice is unlike anywhere else. Before dinner, Reid gave us an orientation on how to navigate the city. It is really easy to get lost, so we did...several times! At the restaurant, Cooper and Marilyn tried fried squid for dinner but weren't big fans.

At dusk, we all took a romantic gondola ride which we will never forget. It was just how we thought Italy should be. In St. Marks square, the adults celebrated with champagne and the kids had Coke while we toasted to a fun vacation in Venice. We sat down in one of the cafes in the square and listened to live music. After a perfect night, it was time to return to the hotel. That's when we got lost. But at last we made it back and went to bed.

Tips!

# Try out your Italian!

# Gondola ride: Put down your camera and enjoy the moment
